ABOUT Our Photography RETREATS

Our Head of Photography will always be on hand to offer your guidance on technical and creative decisions that go into making a memorable image. Our goal is to introduce you to a diverse range of locations and lighting scenarios giving you the widest opportunity to make exceptional images that challenge you to be better.

Each day of your retreat, we offer advice on how to best photograph each of the locations we visit, as well as advice on computer post-processing digital images. At the end of each day, we sit down and review what you’ve created.

Our retreats are designed to meet the needs of individuals with differing degrees of experience and their individual commitment to the craft of photography.

in the Field

We aim to spend as much time as possible photographing at various locations taking advantage of the best lighting and weather situations. Our flexibility allows us to respond to photographic opportunities as they present themselves, where we will stay out longer to shoot if the light is exceptional, or if the group as a whole chooses to do so.

Whilst on location our photographer will be working alongside you offering technical and creative advice together with practical help and encouragement.

Development and Editing of Your Images

The development process is an integral part of the digital workflow process. It is where you also refine the final image. Our Head of Photography is well-versed in both Lightroom and Photoshop. If possible, participants should bring a laptop with the previous mentioned image processing/editing software apps installed. They should also include a RAW conversion app plug-in.

Reviewing and Group Critiques

One of the most exciting and popular times of our photographic retreats is when we get together in the evenings to review and critique each others images in a simple slide show. These sessions are 50/50 creative and technical and allow us to draw new inspiration from each others images and encourage participants to move forward to that next level by refining the skills necessary for producing images of a consistently high quality.

Last, but definitely not least…

We want you to go home having had a great photographic experience and had lots of fun with your new photo friends! But most importantly, we want you to arrive home with a vast collection of images that you can share with family, friends, co-workers and put in that new portfolio of yours.

If you have any questions regarding the photo retreats, please get in touch with us and we’ll be more than happy to discuss your thoughts and answer your questions.
