Our Photography RETREATS

Our experienced photographers have great knowledge of the locations that we visit and will always be on hand to offer advice on the technical and creative decisions that go into making a memorable image. We aim to introduce participants to a diverse range of locations giving you the opportunity to take some exceptional images.

We offer direction to each participant, which includes how to best photograph each of the locations we visit, as well as advice on computer post-processing digital images, and then a sit down review of the images afterwards. The small group sizes allow us to offer participants a one-on-one tailored shoot that meets each individuals needs, no matter their skill level.

Our retreats are designed to meet the needs of individuals with differing degrees of experience and their individual commitment to the craft of photography.

in the Field

We aim to spend as much time as possible photographing at various locations taking advantage of the best lighting and weather situations. Our flexibility allows us to respond to photographic opportunities as they present themselves, often we will stay out longer if the light is exceptional, or if the group chooses to do so.

Whilst on location our photographer will be working alongside you offering technical and creative advice together with practical help and encouragement.

Development and Editing of Your Images

The development process is an integral part of the digital workflow process. It is where you create and refine the final image. Our photographers are well-versed in Lightroom and Photoshop. If possible we would like participants to bring a laptop with these image processing/editing software apps installed. This should include a RAW conversion application – popular choices are Lightroom and Photoshop.

Reviewing and Group Critiques

One of the most exciting and popular times of our photographic retreats is when we get together in the evenings to review and critique each others images in a simple slide show. These sessions are 50/50 creative and technical, and allow us to draw new inspiration from each others images and encourage participants to move forward to that next level by refining the skills necessary for producing images of a consistently high quality.

Last, but definitely not least…

We want you to go home having had a great experience and lots of fun with some new, like minded friends! But most importantly, a vast collection of images that you can share with friends, co-workers and family.
